School Health Clinic Program

Rockdale County Public Schools' employs a either a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or clinic assistant in each school in order to keep students healthy and attending school. Communicable or infectious diseases are not uncommon in school-age children. Communicable means easily spread to others. For this reason, if your child is suspected of having a communicable disease, it is sometimes necessary that we send them home to prevent spread of the disease throughout the school.

Please be aware that during cold and flu season that a child presenting a temperature of 100 degrees or greater, vomiting more than once, having a runny nose with greenish drainage, or having a persistent cough will be sent home.

Please contact the nurse or clinic aide at your child's school should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's health.
