βThe Grants Services Department supports the Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) staff in finding and obtaining funds for projects that forward school district and school site objectives. The Grant Writer supports the grant development and proposal writing process.
β
Proposal Writing
For larger projects and those that impact multiple departments or school sites, the Grant Writer works with staff to write proposals. These proposals often involve federal or state funding and require the approval of RCPS administration. The school system's internal grant seeking policy guides decisions about pursuing these opportunities.
β
Technical Assistance
This office provides technical assistance to school and department grant writers including: coordinating and training School Grant Team members, helping writers find appropriate sources for applications, reviewing proposals for clarity, helping to organize proposals, compiling necessary demographic information, obtaining authorized signatures, examining personnel policies, helping with budget planning and organization, helping with the development of evaluation designs, etc.

Communication and Collaborative Linkages
The Grant Services Department serves as a communication link within the school system and among partners working on grant proposals. Communication is also necessary in order to inform the Board of Education and the Superintendent about large proposals and their implications for the district as to coordinate appropriate channels of approval. In addition, the Grant Services Department facilitates partnerships with other agencies, acting as a link between the school system and community partners. Communication and collaboration increase possibilities for partnerships, improve funding potential and guard against unnecessary duplication.
