| Families must go through the Georgia Department of Education in order to register students for the 2012/2013 school year and for ALL other home school matters. Questions should be directed to the following people at the Georgia Department of Education: Mr. Pat Blanke - 404-463-1765 Ms. Joyce Kelly - 404-656-2093 Declarations of Intent and monthly Attendance forms should not be submitted to Rockdale County for the 2012-13 school year. Prior to July 1, 2012, the Georgia Department of Education will announce new home school procedures. The Georgia Department of Education will identify a URL for the new home school website where students, parents and local home school associations can obtain and submit home school documents electronically. A physical mailing address will also be available for submitting home school documents. Current Rockdale County Home School Parents will receive an email from Mrs. Kay Bassett when the information is made available. Students, parents and local home school associations may choose to immediately begin submitting their new home school required documentation electronically via HomeschoolCompliance.com (Mr. Scott Meadows – 706-353-3548). Neither Mr. Meadows nor HomeschoolCompliance.com are associated with the Georgia Department of Education; however, the Georgia Department of Education has entered into an agreement with Mr. Meadows allowing him to begin accepting this documentation prior to the July 1, 2012 start date in order to better serve those choosing the home school option. Utilizing HomeschoolCompliance.com is free of charge until July 1, 2012. Parents should check HomeschoolCompliance.com for fees after July 1, 2012. |
