Work-Based Learning (WBL) internships and apprenticeships are structured educational experiences that integrate classroom learning with work experience.

It provides an opportunity for juniors and seniors to start preparing for a career while still in high school. Enrollment in a career pathway in the freshman and sophomore years prepares students for a successful Work-Based Learning experience.

Through Work-Based Learning, students are able to earn school credit while learning from skilled professionals, increase career options and future employability, strengthen academic skills, experience the connection between education and real-life work skills and experience potential careers in the workplace.  Work-Based Learning is a year-long commitment to one work-site placement.

  •  During application window submit an application, resume, transcript, and acceptable recommendations.
  •  Be at least 16 years old, a junior or senior in good academic, discipline and attendance standing (minimum GPA 2.5/Healthcare and Veterinary Science 3.0 overall and in pathway courses).

  •  Have one or more periods available to enroll in Work-Based Learning.

  •  Be able to provide transportation to and from work site.
