The mission of the Rockdale County Public Schools' (RCPS) Professional School Counseling Program is to provide a data driven comprehensive school counseling program that promotes the highest level of student achievement. Students will be engaged in their learning and master the knowledge and skill to achieve post-secondary goals. Through collaboration with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the community, Professional School Counselors, will empower students to realize their greatest potential and equip them with the necessary skills to be productive members in a global society.

Past Events
Parents and rising 9th grade students (current 8th grade) are invited to join RCPS Counselors and high school counselors and directors for information about the transition to 9th grade and high school, graduation requirements, HOPE Scholarship, Carnegie Credits, requested classes, and more. Parents of students currently in 5th grade are invited to learn about the transition to middle school, how to handle a seven-class schedule, navigating Infinite Campus to track missing assignments, understanding how schools and the district communicates, navigating the cafeteria, balancing clubs and activities, opportunities to take high school courses while in middle school, and more about the transition to middle school.
High school students and parents are invited. Learning how to search and apply for scholarships for college, trade school programs, and secondary programs.

RCPS Counselors' Philosophical Statements
- All students can achieve, have value, and have the right to participate in the counseling program.
- All student needs (including but not limited to ethnic, cultural, racial and sexual differences, and special needs) are embraced in planning and implementing the school counseling program.
- The RCPS school counseling program supports the specific academic, career, and personal/social goals and developmental competencies outlined in the American School Counselor Association's model program guide.
- The RCPS school counseling program will be designed to advocate for every student in coordination with parents, other school representatives, and the community.
- The RCPS school counseling program will use goals, developmental student competencies, and data to drive program development and evaluation from pre-K through 12th grade.
College Assistance from Georgia's HOPE Program
Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally (HOPE) is a program funded by the Georgia Lottery. Georgia residents enrolling in a certificate or diploma program at a Georgia public college, university, or technical college may be eligible for the HOPE Grant regardless of high school graduation dates or grade point averages.
