HIGH SCHOOLS

Last day of Independent Learning Days - May 7, 2020
Last day to turn in assignments - May 14, 2020
Laptop Return and Retrieval of Personal Items and Yearbooks - dates to be announced and communicated later this month.

Grades

Students will receive numerical grades for Semester 2 courses. Students can improve the grades they received in the March 2020 progress report with assignments completed during Independent Learning Days. Incomplete or missing assignments during Independent Learning Days will not lower a student's grades below what they received in the March 2020 progress report.

There will be no final exams during Independent Learning Days, in alignment with the GA DOE waiver for Milestones EOC (End of Course) exams which removes the 20% calculation of overall grades. The semester grade will be based on the student's coursework and numerical grade.

Students enrolled in Edgenuity courses will take their unit tests remotely and will not take cumulative exams. Their final grade will use existing grades and not include a cumulative exam.

Open Campus students will receive numerical grades for Spring 2020 courses. The final grade for Mini-Mester 4 (which started March 16, 2020) will be determined by assignments completed during Independent Learning Days. Assignments (complete and incomplete) during Independent Learning Days will not negatively impact a student's grade.

Retention/Promotion

Student promotion determined by earned Carnegie Units. Student grades posted in March progress report can be improved or remain the same, but not lowered, with assignments completed during Independent Learning Days.
