College and Career Ready Performance Index released for 2017-18

Georgia Department of Education logoConyers, Ga. -  State School Superintendent Richard Woods recently released the Georgia College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), which measures schools and school districts on a 100-point scale.

The 2018 CCRPI uses an updated calculation as part of the state's Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and is not comparable to previous years' CCRPI calculations. These scores are based on data from the 2017-18 school year. The RCPS overall score is 68.5. The elementary average is 70.3, middle is 65.7, and high school is 68.0. The state elementary average is 70.3, middle is 76.2, and high school is 75.3 with an overall score of 76.6.

“As our 2018 CCRPI data reflects the application of the newly redesigned CCRPI accountability framework, it is important to remember that we must view this report as baseline data from which to improve,” said Superintendent Dr. Terry Oatts. “Some of the new elements within the redesigned framework are fundamentally different than the framework that was in place during the prior years. Consequently, valid comparisons of our district’s performance between our 2018 data and prior years’ data are not possible. Additionally, our 2018 CCRPI represents lagging data as it is based upon our district’s performance during the 2017-18 school year. With our current strategic priorities in place, I am confident that we will see demonstrable gains in our overall CCRPI going forward.”
